Ending the summer break was two fold for our youth racers, as round #9 found many ready to return to school and just as many that had started the week previous. 84 Youth entries were on hand for the event with each one ready to turn it on at the Mountain Ridge Facility.

Austin Findley has been working hard all season and was excited to be back at the track.

Matthew Harris came out of the box on fire in the first few rounds, claiming an overall win at round #2. Matthew hasn't been posting the finishes he would like, but he is determined and always happy to be racing.

Jesi Stracham was going to have to run a loaner quad for this event as she had scattered her race engine prior to the race. She sure does ride hard, and when pushing the small engines so hard it is bound to happen.

70 CVT is one of my favorite classes. Every racer has as much heart as any pro thats ever thrown a leg over a quad. They give it 150% and still have energy to run the pits all day!

Brayden Schick works out of turn one and heads for turn two with one hungry pack of riders hunting him down!

Allie Slate #47 hadnt finished below the 3rd spot until the Snowshoe, where she recorded a 7th place finish. Looking to get back up and battle for the lead at this round, Allie came ripping out of turn two and was off!

When the white flag came out, Bradfords lead was all but gone, and Mumford looked to have something to challenge the leader as the pair left the scoring tent!

Pappy

Racing was tight in many classes, some coming down to the last few truns or were decided by the slightest of mistakes

Pappy

A BIG THANK YOU to Pappy for the wonderful coverage of ALL the youth races.Your so right when you say that these little guys are all heart and by making them as important in your headlines as you do the big bikes proves to us that your all heart too! Thanks also for giving Seth a thumbs up this past race. Before the start of the 2007 series we hoped for a winning season.Being overwhelmed with mechanical failures we quickly realized the reality we faced.Seeing the determination Seth maintained we looked at our losses as gain. The Lord has taught us much patience and humility and although a win is awesome, just to see that red head cross the finish line is a dream!
Also, to all the youth ATV riders: We want you to know how proud of all of you we are. Please do not mistake our rush from the podium as lack of support. In the past we've hung around to recognize the awesome effort put into the competition. We now, however, also run the morning race.So we are hard pressed to return to our trailor to get ready for the next heart pounding battle. We think the world of all of you and want you to know our support for each one of you is abundantly GREAT!Way to go guys from the back row to the front!!!

My back still hurts !!!!!!!!!!!

2 years ago when we started GNCC it seemed like everyone was out for themselves and it was only about WINNING..Weve inherited many great friendships and we care about each other and about the kids having a great day. I want my kids to Win ,but its not the end of the world or an ugly day when they dont. My daughter had a great race and finished 11th out of 11 .She is a 6 year old pageant girl and should she be racing anyway ? My son was not happy with the day and finished 5th...it made me smile when he was smiling and said " Dad you got some work to do before NEW YORK" ..
I will not be in N.C.(( My wife and kids will be present) but i have no doubt that they will be taken care of by other great caring parents.

Thanks Pappy and GNCC
