I have a 2003 400 EX that I bought last spring. At first it was only a little hard to find Neutral.

Now it wont go into neutral while running unless I reach down with my hand and monkey with it. It will go into neutral when it is not running.

Can anyone point me to the way to fix this? Can be a pain in the *** on full day ride having to hold the clutch so much.

Thanks,

how hard does it go into gear? sounds like a clutch adjustment issue. might be dragging too much to go into neutral try an adjustment and see what happens.

It shifts fine. Just put in a new clutch cable. Old one was really pretty bad.

That is... though it shifts OK, I still cant find neutral with it running.

may be something in the shifting star is what i would look into next... mine is kind touchy when finding neutral but nothing horrible. you may wanna take the side cover off and see if there's anything obstructing or preventing the roller from entering the neutral position. might be a worn shift roller.
