Look into a Terrycable EZ pull.

Haven't gotten to ride with mine yet, but just pushing it seems so much easier.

A Tokyo Mods spring in the carb and a 300EX or 400EX throttle housing. And can you can go with a TRX90 Lever. I just used the Tokyo Mods spring and a 300EX throttle and lever and it was wway better than stock. I never got any thumb fatigue. I will sell the Tokyo Mods spring if you would be interested.

What Lonestar said is what I have been running all season and it works great.

Put a 400ex throttle on it. Have to make a change to the throttle position sensor on the carb, just splice the wires together. Otherwise if you don't want to loose that ability the spring solution mention above is the way to go.

Does it matter what year TRX90 lever? I just bought a 400ex throttle and Im gonna swap the 90 lever onto it and then get the spring too. Should be nice.

Dont forget to lube your thorttle cable(and clutch cable while you're at it). Also lube up every thing that moves in the throttle housing on the bars. With an 07, that part should be clean though.

I was in your shoes, i went with a twist throttle. Good god did i bust my *** in no time. Good choice with just modifying the thumb throttle haha.

I also have the TOKYO MODS spring and a 400ex thumb and it's like butter now! Do yourself a favor and get the spring.

I got the tokyo mods spring for my 07 and besides requiring specialty tools to install and costing $30 I dont notice anything... I think it may acdtaully be stiffer.

Nick I don't believe the year matters for the 90 lever.

What are you talkin about specialty tools? a screwdriver and a couple of box wrenches is all you need, your normal stable of tools nothing special about it.

All I have on my 04 TRX is the ebay spring they sell for the FCR and if it was any softer I would not know if im WOT or half ways... Also inside the FCR where the spring is you can remove some tension of the spring by using the tab before the one that is currently being used. Over at YFZTech.com they have the tread where it explains how to do this mod.

With the ebay spring and my stock throttle housing its amazingly soft....

On yours the other thing you can do is remove the spring in the throttle housing itself.

good luck.

On my bike you had to have a torx bit with a hole in the center to remove the slide.

I used a dremel to cut a slot in those types of screws to get them out and then replace them with phillips screws.

i just recently did 400ex throttle and tokyo mods spring to mine, but haven't had a chance to try it yet...i know at first, it seemed stiffer then i realized i had the spring on wrong...after i corrected that problem...it felt like butter

I could possibly have it on wrong. I was dissapointed that a tiny spring that cost $30 came with no instrutions. I was happy to get it all back together and working right. Without getting into it I wound it up and stuck the "pin" theu the slide and bolted it all up.

Save yourself a spring cost and loosen up stock spring
Get a 3/8 rod or socket extension, clamp rod and end of spring into vice and turn spring clockwise with vicegrips say 3-4 full turns carefully and slowly. Keep the spring together and tight and it wont go out of shape.
Try it in carb to see the diffrence. If you want the throttle lighter then go another turn on spring :) :)

I like your idea but wouldn't it weaken the spring? I have a stock spring i should try it.

Thats the idea...make the spring weaker so thumb throttle is easier
It actually moves the tang or part of spring that is held against carb hsg, thus creating less force against it when throttle slide shaft is turned
Just on what i said last post that turn spring clockwise, the direction you want is to tighten spring up and wrap around3/8 rod to tighten against it, it may not be clockwise when put in vice. Just wanted to clear up and not confuse people
