I think my pipe needs to be repacked.

Does missing packing make you lose horsepower?
Does it make it louder?

Just wanna know if i might be missing power and louder than it should..

yes it will make it louder but you will lose some power because you lose some of the back pressure needed to make the exhaust function properly.

yeah packing is cheap. alot of people just go ahead and buy a new exhaust. my question is WHY????? repacking material or kits are cheap.

example. the repack kit for my white brothers E2 is only $24. compared to spending up around 300 to 400 bucks for a new exhaust. the only way i would do that is if something is seriously F-ed on the pipe.

stripped in the head where you put the wrench in, or stripped threads?

if it's just stripped in the head where you can't turn it with the wrench. use a center punch on the edge of the bolt and beat the crap out of it till you can back it out.

then go to your local hardware store and get some hex head bolts of the same thread in stainless steel and put some anti seize on them b4 you put them back in.

that's what i had to do with mine when i took it off to repair the crack in the weld that holds the bracket on the pipe.
