i cant get the pivot pin out of my rear calipar any ideas

i need to know this also, both of mine on my front brake calipers will not come out

what I had to do was drill a hole in the bracket side of the pin, heat the caliper and hit the pin out with a nail punch. The sleave came out with it, too. It wasn't fun at all. Sometimes with the rear, you can try to turn the caliper, while you heat it, to break it loose.

Clean the hole out and polish or replace the pin when you get it out. Make sure you use silcone brake lube on both caliper sliders, next time it should come right apart.

sounds like you must use a propane tourch and heat the area with the threads a little.... be careful ive heard of the threads coming out with the pin. if so you can still use the caliper. you must get a couple of5/16 or so extended bolts that pass all the way through the caliper and nut them and theyll work.
