need help

i got a 04 400ex and it is stuck in gear when u try to shift up or down it won't do anything the lever just goes up and down and it dosn't make a sound. could somebody tell me what could be the problem and how to fix it.

did you try rocking it back and forth to see if it frees up in gear??

my guess... (only a guess) but if that lever is just going up and down the shift star may have come undone and is just sitting there in place not grabbing any of the levers' actions. take the clutch cover off and take a look to make sure its all connected right.

i can't even ride it bc it's in 1st gear and i tried to rock it and everything. It won't even try to go into another gear i can shift up and down and it won't do anything i really need help on this one.

i had a similar problem on my 250r. the shift shaft was bent and not staying in gear.
