I was talking with my dad today about adjusting my valves if needed and he said I should find out what kind they are to see what I will be looking at for cost. So anyone know what kind of valves are in these and what I need for adjustment and how much it will cost me for parts? Im not sure it needs it yet but it will and I just want to know ahead of time. Its an 08 if that makes a difference.
u got titanium intake valves and steel exhaust... check service honda for price.
and u dont need new ones.. u just need shims to adjust them...
ill try to dig up some DIY when i have time or do a quick search..

I would suggest buying the Hotcams shims kit for around $100 I believe. You can get it from C&D the site sponser. Has all the shims you will ever need.

nope. The specs will still be the same.
The specs are .006 (+- .001) for the intake
and .011 (+-.001) for the exhaust. At least thats what the 04/05 is.

The shim kit is $80 and will have everything you need. As for replacing those weak stock TI valves we use kibble white black diamond SS valves they are $30 each.

I just did the same thing to my 07, installed the HRC kit and everything. My local dealer just swapped shims with me...All i had to do was tell him what shims i needed, and i gave him my old ones, no cost what so ever. BTW that kit is the way to go, its no where near the same quad as before,

Hey, this goes along w/ this topic... When my 05 idles it sticks high. if i just let the clutch out and start pulling out w/o gas the idle drops considerable... is that due to tight intake valves and if so... as an 05 buying the 2 intake valves and a shim kit... could you get me a round about cost???
