View Full Version : Hardened rockers necessary for stage 2 hotcam??

Installing a stage 2 hotcam into a 440ex with a rev box. Are hardened rockers necessary or will the stockers be ok??

Do not use hardened rockers with the hot cam they will destroy the cam.

negative. the hotcams were specifically made to be used with our stock rockers. it sais so in the instructions it comes with.

some other cams do require hardened rockers but you gotta read at the equipment compatability stuff.

pretty sure all hotcams are made to work with stock valvetrain. i have stock valvetrain with my stage 3 440, and no problems

i use oem rockers with lucas oil additive never had a problem I'm using a 410 lift cam

the hotcam is a billet cam and hardened rockers will chew into the surface of the cam. Cams that are hardwelded are the ones that recommend hardened rockers are the stock ones are to soft.
