I'd let your friend know that he's likely got an 87 because that's what his frame is, and the 87/88 motors are almost the same the frame is what counts.

Also his price is likely high. He'll get more interest in the $3800 range but that might even be high in today's market.

Ask him if he'd be willing to trade the plastic for some new stuff?
