The Godfather of ATV Racing Takes All Comers On His New KTM ATV 450 XC
Tim Farr competing at the NASMOTO September 2nd Extreme Cycle Jam in Nashville
August 24, 2007 - Fans will see the new KTM ATV 450 XC in the hands of the Godfather of ATV racing, Tim Farr, competing in the 2007 Extreme Cycle Jam NASMOTO ATV SMGC contest at Nashville’s Music City Motorplex. Farr and KTM racing manager, Kurt Nicoll, decided to use this race to debut the KTM ATV 450 XC with a goal of winning the NASMOTO Championship and going home with all the marbles.

As a tune up to the NASMOTO SMX ATV Pro-Am Championship, Farr has taken the KTM ATV racer on two wins and a second in the Extreme Dirt Track series. He feels that KTM is ready for battle and looks forward to mixing it up with ATV regulars including Zac Willett, Daryl Rath, and Nick Granlund. In this winner-take-all format, the winning purse is over $3,000.

“The KTM ATV 450 XC 525 XC is aimed for racing with high end race-proven components built into the machine including Ohlin suspension, world-class brakes and a bullet-proof rear axle,” stated Farr. “Most manufacturers require that you buy upgrades to go racing but with KTM’s ‘Ready To Race’ philosophy you can gas and go!”

KTM selected Farr to assist in the development of the new 450 XC and 525 XC because of his engineering background and his racing and riding experience. Farr provided the fine-tuning elements to the new racer including ergonomics, braking and dialing in the suspension.

For the amateur racing enthusiast in Nashville, NASMOTO has created a Sportsman class that encourages newcomers to participate in the sport and requires only a tire modification. NASMOTO will have a tire changing service at the racing facility for all novice SuperMoto riders. The Sportsman class assists local motorcycle dealers in creating a low cost and highly entertaining weekend for their customers. In no other series can a fan say they raced on the same track as the pros.

The track at the Music City Motorplex has been modified to increase the viewing area of the dirt section. “We have modified the dirt section so that fans can really enjoy the jumps and see the passing lanes,” said Norman Partin, General Manager of Music City Motorplex. “This premier ATV event is for all the marbles and with addition to KTM and Farr all the big guns are on-hand to go for glory.”

Tickets with pit passes are $30 at the Music City Motorplex box office or $15 at participating dealers including Castle Powersports, Precision Cycles, Americas Motorsports , Boswell Harley Davidson and at the track.
