Tryn to get to my carrier bearing mine are shot i think and i have the hub off the right rear tire i got the axle nut and lock nut off and i took the brake caliper off and also moved the carrier so i could get the chain off the sprocket an took the rotor off but not what the rotor mounts too how do i remove this so i can remove the axle to change the bearings? I didnt know if i need to just pry it off or is there a special way it comes off. Help please

the axle slides out the left side if yopu are lookin gat the rear end.... teh brake disk comes off the lock nut comes off the hub comes off wheel comes off and the mount for the disk comes off all out the right side. you do not need to take off the thing that holds the sprocket on.

Correct! I took everthing off the right side if your looking from the rear and all that is on the right side it the thing that the rotor is mounted on with the 4 allen head threads that holds the rotor to the mount

ok... use a flat head screw driver and stick it between that and the swinger and pry it out. when u go to reassemble grease all them treads on the axle.

heating up the carrier helps alot you could use a torch or put it in a oven on like 350 for like a half hour

I got the carrier out and i got the dust covers out so i can see the bearing is it ok for the rubber covers on the outside of the carrier to stay the on cause i cant seen to get them off without tearing them so will they b ok in the oven ?
