which is faster?

I have an 04 450r with pretty much everything done to it... hot cam II, JE 13:1 piston.. carbon pro II white brothers exhaust.. white brothers 1500 over rev box.. jetted with lid off and K&N airfilter.. my question is... I know that the 06's have more power then the 04's. I have not raced my buddy yet with his stock 06 but I was wondering if he is still going to beat me in the dunes... just a question:)

I don't think so dude, Its true the 06's do have more power, but not as much more as you've added with your mods. Of course the better rider will win, but if you guys are equal you should win no problem:macho

With what you have you should be able to beat him pretty easily. After he throws a cam in the mix, I would watch out, though. The 06+ bikes will give the older bikes hell with just minor work.

A '06 & up HRC 450R will give you a run for your money, they make around 50hp. But you should be able to beat a stock '06 no problem, heck.............I can beat a stock one easy with my 440EX.

Ha ha... Thats funny you say that.. (Put a cam in) I just helped him put in a hotcam II.. Aw crap. now I am worried. What else can you do to give your self an edge against the 06?

try installing a FCR carburetor and getting a port polish job---

Tell him it will run better with the stock air box lid on. I don't see how any air goes through that 06 snorkel thing.

I think you still get him but not buy alot, he is also lower geared

post results, and trade quads and run a few times to see which one is truely quicker

as far as I know the 2005 and under arent actually 450 or 449cc. they are like 430 or something.

as far as i know the displacment has always been 450
