Well today I rode my YZ426 for about an hour pretty agreesivly. Basically I just got it up and running and was fooling around making sure everything was good. Well after some hard riding, When I was de-celerating the quad started to break up and When I pulled in the clutch and stopped it stalled and wouldnt start. I figured that It over heated and thats why it shut off...is it normal for them to just shut off when they over heat like that? Im running a Stock 250R radiator with 50/50 mix. Im gonna be getting a Oversized radiator within the next week or 2 and run engine Ice.

I was told running a stock 250R radiator and engine ice and you shouldn't have a problem. I am running a stock 250R radiator on mine and have had mine on the track in like 90+ Deg temps and no problems.

Try 1 to 2 sizes richer than stock pilot jet. That will help out your deceleration popping and over heating. Depending on your exhaust you may want to go with a slightly richer main as well. As far as engine ice goes, I used to run it in all my bikes. I was constantly topping them off after every ride and never really found any lower operating temps. I now run distilled water with Red Line water wetter. I could'nt be happier with this coolant set-up. My bikes now run cooler and never need to be topped off like the engine ice required. The only down side with the water/water wetter coolant is it's not the least bit of an anti freeze. So when the cold weather comes around I switch to a simple 50/50 distilled water and anti freeze with water wetter.

I hope this helps......
