Hot exhaust (stock)

Any of you guys who have stock exhausts have problems with them getting really hot. Mine is wicked hot while riding and has burned my pants a few times is that normal? I didnt think they would get that hot.

a couple things... the eshaust does run hot on them and if you let it idle at night or pull a long hill climb you can look down and it will be pretty cherry red... if you are running lean though that will cause it to be worse... but unless it is glowing red alot though I would not worry about it

Yeah on idle is really hot thats when it burned my jeans. If I am running it nice and easy in 5th gear its still smoking. My dirtbikes were never this hot is why I was wondering but seems like I shouldnt worry for now.

The stock header does get pretty hot but ive never had mine glow cherry red if its that hot you have some jetting issues. its normal for it to be hot tho especially if you have the heat shield removed i have a couple burn marks on my leg to prove it lol :p

Its an 08 without any mods....yet.

idk about a 450r but my 400ex when i used to drag race at night on the powerline dunes at night all you would see is headers glowing orange. I mean glowing so bright it seemd to light up the ground slightly
