View Full Version : anyone knowledgeable on old mazda b2000 trucks?

i'm buying one within the next few days and the guy says it starts for a minute then dies. he said it's either the carburetor acting up or something with the oil

my neighbor used to have one and said his did the same thing as that guy was explaining to me so he might be able to help but a little extra never hurt

let me know what's up

oh and it's an 87 5 speed if that matters..

Fuel Pump, could be the relay to it is shot, could be the strainer in the fuel pump is clogged, or the wiring to it is shot..... happens on most of the ones i sell the parts for at work, good luck....

that's good to know! haha, i don't want to treat my first car/truck like some sort of god. i'd love to beat the crap out of it


you wouldn't happen to know if anything has ever gone wrong with the vacuum, oil check something or whatever, or the carburetor would you? i've heard those are 3 things that commonly go bad on them. just trying to find the main things so i know what to check/change.
