My project...

Well for a while now you guys have heard me go on and on about my Project. Its a 1980 Buick LeSabre Limited Coupe with a 301 v8 in it. I jus put air shocks in the rear and polished my wheels up. Tell me what you guys think.

plannin on replacing this here pretty soon. Im pickin up a 350 SBC with a 4 bolt main next week then im sendin it off to have it bored out to a 355. so far all i've done to this motor is ***removal of the smog pump, diff air cleaner and a little bit of tuning on the carb***.

Ehhh. I think it has too much of a rake to it. But, it's your car. Why bore a 350 to 355, just stroke it out to a 383.

i think the rake is perfect for the look im goin for. im gonna stick with a 355 cus its cheaper. i dont have enough money for the 383 build. i'd rather get a 400 SBC and bore it out before i built a 383 IMO tho.

Looks real good. Dark tint will finish it nicely. Dark tint looks good on white paint.

It sounds pretty good. i took a old cherry bomb glass pack off of a 70' charger that is sittin behind my neighbors house and took some exhaust tubing and welded it together and made the side exit exhaust. I also removed my Catalytic converter. Right now it just a single exit. that way i have a little bit of back pressure and dont ruin my valves.

Nice ride you got there! Here is a pic of my '70. Does your neighbor's car look like this? If so, do you know what it has in it?

it has no motor or tranny in it. its junk. theres not rust on it but there's not good quarter panel on the thing. its covered in dents. theres no interior in it either. the only thing good on it was the slot wheels. My neighbor said i could have them. how long have you had your 70'?

Heck, I'll take it then. Who cares if there's not a good panel on it, if there's no rust then it's worth something. Engine's, transmissions, and quarter panels aren't hard to come by if you don't care about the numbers matching.

Is there anything wrong with the 305 engine? Why put in a different one when you can keep it original? As for the wheels, I think those wheels look great on it and don't see any need for change.

It doesnt have a 305 in it. It has a pontiac 301. There's no performance parts for the 301. and i want to get diff rims because i want some wide rears on it. And i think some cragars would really wake up its looks.

You can buy hop ups for the 301, as well as a 305, I have a modded 305, Runs very well, but just lacks what a 350 has. They are well running motors none the less just not a motor most look for. A 350 and some deep dish cragars would really set it off, although I do like those rims. Nice car man.

Yea im pickin up a 350 4 bolt main next monday and im gonna have it bored out to a 355 and i'm gonna put vortec heads on it and probably a edelbrock intake manifold with some hooker headers or sumthin.
