The kick starter spindle is different.. You can make it work if you mod the spacer!

Just call them and ask. The guys that work there are cool, and they can tell you everything you need to know.

the side covers work on 85-89 motors. I don't know why they put that on their site. I have 85 covers on my 2 86 motors right now, I had a 86 cover on my 88 motor and I have another 88 motor with a 85 cover. If you look on their site for billet brake pedals, they say they work on trx and atc 250r's, I have 85/86 atc250r and the brake pedals are far different and are impossible to work. Pretty much most motor parts on 85-89 motors are interchangable, with the exception of the cluth cover(you need to cut a spacer), 85-87 kicker shaft and gears fit and 88/89 and so on, but it must be the whole assembly, however 88/89 shaft/gear on 85-87 clutch cover require a cut spacer. Many sites fail to say that 85 and 86 atc's share the same swingarm pivot parts and 86 atc shock link parts are the exact same as 86-89 trx.
