octane booster is junk it doesnt do anything if you really want to boost your octane buy some race fuel and mix it 50/50 but by looking at your mods a higher octane wouldnt do much anyway

I read up on it and it is supposed to make the engine run ccoler and add some performance. I am not near any stations that carry race gas. Is it really junk? I want to know if anyone uses it and and if it makes a difference overall?

yea, i dont personally like octane booster,, you would be lucky to see it raise your octane level 1 point...

yor best bet would be a 50/50 mix, but i think it would be useless on a otherwise stock engine...

Torco makes an octane booster that actually works, no gimmicks.

well let's just say this. i wouldn't put any kind of that crap in my engine.

mixing 92 with VPRed 105 is fine. i've even ran 105 straight in mine b4.

just my opinion.

just a little funny story about race fuel, my friend use to run race fual mixed with 93octane. they werent mixed in the cans they were in separate 1's and he poured them into a 3rd 1. Well we had this (hoopd) polaris phoenix 200cc and my brother accidently put 100% race fuel into this stock little 200. All night it was spitting flames about a foot long no exageration out of the exhaust. Funniest thing I have ever seen....

Octane booster is junk unless youir running a high compression engine there is no need for anything higher than 92 Octane.

Do you know what the ratio of concentrate to fuel is to make the claimed 107 octane?

Found this article about Torco accelerator concentrate for you JOEX: http://www.competitionplus.com/2006_04/torco_accelerator.html

“All you have to do is add one quart to bring 93 octane fuel up to 107 octane” with a five-gallon fill-up. "

I haven't used it myself as I run pure 110 leaded in my quad but I know a lot of guys who swear by the stuff in their cars at the drag strip. When you're running high compression, forced induction, etc... you're going to need all the detonation resistance you can get.

Thanks, just wondered what the actual cost would work out to.

I came up with about $6.75 per gallon using $2.75/gal for the pump gas.

That's not taking into account shipping cost or the 'extra' quart though.

"octane boosters" are crap. it takes 10+ bottles of that junk to raise your octane by 1. example wouldbe add 10+ bottles to 98 octane to raise it to 99. mix race fuel in like stated above to get higher octane and better performance

i have used rocket fuel octan booster in my ex and it didn't make much of a dif but if you can only get 87 octan or somthing then it works good

08-27-2007, 08:55 PM
always run 92 or higher, i once ran 87 by accident and as you know it pre detonates so I bogged down all day and ran like crap haha. If you want a higer octane but not full race fuel mix 107 with 92 or something. I think they sell 103octane, get that and 50/50 it with 93 or something idk

i see alot of guys on here saying to mix race gas with 93 octan but not everybody can get race gas where they live i don't think i have ever seen race gas within 60 miles of where i live

08-27-2007, 09:22 PM
yeah, you either find it at race tracks or at airports. I wish they made a device that read what octane gas was. i would like to see if octane boosters really work

yeah i would love somthing like that then i could tell if pump gas is what they say it is
