4th place in the Shifter Open class was #10y Kelsey Lugan.
Kelsey had a somewhat "fluke" with her quad in the monrning race of the day that resulted in a DNF. I asked her about how things went in the Sport class....
"I didnt feel like I rode as hard as I should have in the sport class. I think I was a little clammed up and worried about something going wrong ,so I did not give it my all I dont think.Ive had a tough time with a few mechanincal bugs and just a case of bad luck for my 1st full season racing competively.
The track was rough, and it was kinda dark in the woods. I wreck in the trails, and the bike got layed over me, and the handle bars went into my side, it took me a minute to get back up, and take off. The next lap, another rider and me had to get this other mini unstuck, so we could go on in the trails. It took lots of strength out of usI have been training at home working on my lap times and starts and I felt good about taking a podium finish in the morning race. Ill come back next round and push harder next round!"

As mentioned in the Amatuer race coverage, youth riders would face a challenging course as rain and mud had taken over most of the track. This has been an all too familiar scene for the Sunday 50/70 youth classes .
Race 1 would have to push some serious water puddles mud and shovel some mud .By the end of the morning racing, one might wonder how ANY of the riders conquered there races.
I'd hate to see how many top ends needed replaced this past week end! :scary:

Race 1 gets underway with the open 12-15 Open class 200cc class.
#George Kraft was in 3rd place in lap one, but gains two positions by lap 2 taking the lead to the checker .
