I did this the other day in my yard. I changed the rear bearings and took it for a test ride in the yard. 30 min. later I was in the E.R. I got my 250r about a month ago, after wanting one for years. It took me about 3 rides to figure out it was too much bike for me and I got worried I might break my leg. Im supposed to trade it for a kfx 400 tommorrow. I guess I can ride it in 6 to 8 weeks.:D

that sucks, as for a 250r being too much bike, a kfx is more bike, more weight and more torque, it doesn't handle as good either. Get the 250r motor setup how you ride, for most people a low-mid pipe, reeds and carb will make it easy to ride. I wear rding boots everytime I ride and for a reason. I hit some stumps on my dirtbike and without boots, it would have hurt alot more. They have sved my ankles afew times also.

no bike is ever too much bike it is just some people have not learned how to ride or how to control the thumb throttle

you mean 8 weeks to get the cast off! i'm just getting over a similar break. the tib and fib, plates and screws. it's been about 2 months and even with PT, it still is sore, stiff and not the full range of motion.
oh, and it was with full racing gear, boots, pants, knee braces, etc.

Just being hopeful with the 8 week estimate. Who knows?

you will be limping around for months after, I broke my leg and 6 months later it still didn't have full use. Later year, I broke both legs and more, the limp finally started to disappear after 9 months(walking after 3 month). The first week or 2 that you walk, it will hurt worse than you can imagine, I know it did for me last year. There is some exercises that you can do to make the angle move more after the cast is off, they hurt very badly too, but the pain is welll worth it.

I guess well see how it goes. I have surgery scheduled for tues. I know itll probably hurt more after that, but it hasnt been bad to this point. What is bad is I just traded my 250r for a kfx 400 about 4 hours ago. I cant stand to have a new toy and not be able to play with it. I hope its a better trail bike than the r was.

what was done to your r?, they can be awesome trail bikes. My 250r's will never be replaced by those new four strokes. They are too tall, high and short for me. I like how a 250r feels over almost any bike. My 250r's are for mx, but one will get built for the woods. What year kfx400 did you get??? You know the first years had problems with the frames cracking, as they are nothing but a suzuki ltz400 with different plactics.

While we are on the discussion of riding boots. I just got a new set of Oneal boots, and man are they stiff. What is the best way to loosen them up. I tried wearing them in the shower but it didn't seem to help much. You guys got any better ideas? By the way sorry about the leg, that looks like that was pretty painful. Just think by the time it gets better it will be time for some good winter riding.
