So we have been building this project bike for the new company/website and I am a little concerned with how hot it gets.

I bought the bike used and It has always ran fine, but I have just always been worried about the heat.

It is a 04 with an ESR 480 kit at 12.5:1 compression and it is running a HRC cam.

I thought it might be running lean so I put the airbox lid on it to see if it would like that more, but it would break up at high rpm.

It has a Rossier Exhaust on it that glows red just next to the head after idling for a couple minutes.

Any suggestions or comments?

keep the lid off and add a jet 1 size up. after market headers are thinner and glow about two inches from the head

I have not checked to see what jets are in there now, but could others post their 480 jet setups?

What other things could I do to cool this pig? Aftermarket Radiator?

Thanks

You shouldn't need to buy an aftermarket rad.. The stock should be just fine if you tune in the setup some more.

What color is the plug reading?

Fluids topped up?

Pump is working fine?

And what makes you think it's running too hot?

The header pipe glows like 8"

and it just seems really hot to me.

Maybe I will get a temp gauge and give you guys a reading???
