it smells good, and runs your bike cooler bad thing is you would have to purge it after almost every race

Unless you're drag racing, stay off it. The fuel is too volitale to be screwing with at an MX track.

you also need to buy a different carb to run alky

Remind me exactly WHY you want to run alky in this motor? Alcohol doesnt give that much more power, and only drag racers run it. Who would build a CRF450 to drag? Nobody. The costs of that bike are already out the roof, and why spend more money on it to make it not much faster.

If your CRF doesn't have enough umph, get a port job or a bore kit. Stay away from alcohol.

I have ran alcohol in Banshees and from personal experience I feel it is not a good idea in your CRF450. The reason being is alcohol is extremely corrosive to the enternel parts on a the engine. This is why you have to purge the bike because after everytime you ride an alcohol bike you have to unhook the fuel line form the tank and purge the bike of all the alcohol in the engine. If you fail to do so you can almost guarunteed to have some rust in the engine. I have seen it happen in less then 24 hours. Just my 2cents

Alcohol is LESS volatile than gasoline that's why race motors with high compression run alcohol because of it's resistance to detonation.

You're only doing yourself a disservice in running alcohol in your stock CRF. You'll be more prone to cold start problems with it.

its better to run race gas in a 4 stroke anyway
