I've been searching around and can't find any info as to what viscosity of oil Honda recommds to be used in my climate. I am in Georgia and it's pretty hot out now but I'll be doing a lot of fall riding and it will get into the 30's and 40's sometimes but that's about it.

I'm going to run Royal Purple Motorcycle oil... it comes in 10W30, 10W40 and 20W50 viscosities, which should I look into running?

Thanks!

depending on the temp out there... id run 20-50. better protection when it gets hot. anything thinner may get too thin when it gets warm. then move down to a 10-30 in the winter.

i was running 15W-40 diesel oil in my 400EX for the last few years but recently i switched over to 20W-50 castoroil motorcycle oil. engine noise is still down from 10W-40 but right after going from 15W-40 to 20W-50 my quad has started burning oil on start up, like not just a wee puff but a good little haze. top end and valve seals were done about 10-12 hours ago and it didn't burn a drop with 15W-40, the level hasn't droped much with the 20W-50 but she sure smokes. when warm i cant notice any smoke.

any oil that doesnt have friction inhibitors will work in the wet clutch engine. 20/50 in summer and 10/30 winter.
