Should I buy the white brothers repacking kit or should I just repack it myself? Has anyone one here had better luck either was?

My buddy bought the moose repacking material for like 10 bucks and installed it in 3 minutes on a dune trip to waynoka. I am not sure of what all this kit your talking about consist of, his just had packing material in it. This was on a YFZ450

If you dont have any packing in your exhaust then you will most likley burn a whole through your exhaust and your exhaust will pretty much just fall apart.

I don't know which pipe you have. But for my WB E-Series, I repack every 35 hrs or so. In the Winter I can repack every 45 hrs. In the summer I have to repack at around 25. You'll know the packing material is wayyy to far gone when you pull it out and %50 is burned away. You ought to repack before it gets that bad.

How often to repack depends on your riding, the tuning of the motor, the displacement (of course), and the riding conditions. You probably ought to keep an eye on your packing and make notes. This will take quite some time. But since there is no mathamatical formula that fits for all quads in all conditions, this is pretty much it.

have fun!

You can also tell by the tone of the exhaust. Once it need to be repacked it will have a real loud kind of eco sound to it.

Yeah. It will get a little hollow sounding if it needs repacking.
