Anyone know how to track online names?

Guys, I`m looking to track someone online. They have an AIM (AOL Instant Messanger) name, and have been saying some pretty nasty stuff to the girl I am talking to. Does anyone know how to track or find out where a screename is coming from, was created from, ect.?

I always thought there were people out there who could track where the names come from, like, track the location of the computer. Maybe I`m losing my mind.:ermm:

im sure theres ways to do it i just dont really know how. ive been having the same problem with the phoen though. ppl calling me threatening me, talking about my girlfriend alot, ect. i actually had to call the cops about it last night. its a few times a day everyday for a while now. they really didnt wanna have anything to do with it so well see what happens from hear. i just dotn understand why ppl have to hide?

IP address is basically your internet's number. If people get it, they can track you to your internet provider, and get to you that way.
