traded my ttr and $800 for this 300ex. and sold my 250ex for 1850. i got about 1400 now for a rm100/kx100 or maybe a 2 stroke 85/125 not sure yet...
anyways here are pics of the 300ex. what do you think? its a little dirty lol.

i picked it up from a friend, right through the woods, i like it a lot, and it has plenty of power, for now

Looks great bro:cool: You will love it. My 250x can pull wheelies anywhere. Kinda sad to say but I would take it over any 450/400 anyday. It is so much fun and a beast for mainly stock performance parts. Anyway nice 300ex dude. :D

thanks man and yea this thing pulls wheelies pretty easily, not as easily as the old 250ex casue its heavier now but still easy, and has a lot more power

i think there the same weight. if not the 250ex is heaverier im almost positive.

oh and word of advice dont cut the fenders. where you ride, bad idea. take em off to see how you like em, go threw some mud and stuff, its a pain

my old 250 was all stock, this has some stuff done to it, but this is definetly MUCH faster than my 250, you can tell the difference for sure. im glad i did the upgrade, it only cost me 150$ as well so its not like i spent much.

and i dont know why i just dont like the fenders at all on the 300. they seem to sit so low. is it just me?

from hondas website, 250ex dry 360, 300ex dry 372.5. My bad i thought they were the same. the 300s front just seems so light though.

I had both...huge power difference. I modded my 300 pretty well and kept up with z400s. Got a 450 now, talk about a change in power go from a 300ex to a 450r.

Hey is that an aftermarket grab bar trict_out ? if so what one ? I need something that sticks back a little farther than stock

honda8&3
08-22-2007, 05:46 AM
PRM makes a pretty long grab bar. The desert I put on mine is so wide and sticks out pretty far too.

i have like a powerman exhaust and it sits pretty close to the grab bar not that bad...it doesnt stick out on the end (thank god) or else i wouldve busted it already lol.

it only had 1 disk in when i got it and i put all of them in hoping it would be quieter and it made basically no differenece...
i might have to get another pipe idk yet.

whats a good quiet pipe?

where can i race this xc?

way ... 2 horsepower ... its closer then the z400, 400ex relationship lol, ur used to a recon ... the 250ex is closer to the 300ex then the 250ex is to the recon even though its essentially the same quad plus or minus extra width, plastics, more pepped up engine, one of my buddies has a recon and a bruin 350 and i dust both of them, even though the 250ex isnt a true sport quad it can be ridden in a much sportier style then the recon

theres way more to it than different plastics, width, and a "pepped up engine".

the 250ex has a recon engine, AKA utility. the 300ex's is a sport engine.

the 250 i believe has the same frame as the recon too. the 300ex's frame is i wouldn't say more hi tech but i think you can ride that alot more "sportier" than a 250ex.

face it, there not the same quad. not even close

ohh no doubt the 300ex is wider, lower, chain drive, OHC rather than pushrod, but the 250ex can be ridden faster and sportier then a recon, it has 65 pounds shaved off its like 2 inches wider and the engine actully is pepped up 10 % ... o yeh the shocks even though still terrible are better then the recons

yes the 250ex is "sportier" than the recon. i thought you were comparing the 250ex only to the 300ex. my bad:scary:

2 quick questions i dont feel like makin a new thread.

1.
if i take a link out of the chain, will it dull my sprocket more than normal? i read that somewhere.

and 2.
if i raced this locally, would i race Youth, Adult Novice or Adult Pro B? I should say XC racing. and what type of extra parts should i bring? how rough are the trails...and will my rims be ok or do i need like reinforced rims?
Thanks for the help...

Well check out www.Harescrambleracing.com

District 6 North Eastern Pa XC racing is picking back up again starting this sunday at Foot of the Mountain (near harrisburg). Our tracks are usually pretty rocky. Very fun and fast tracks. With that quad you would race in the 91-200 2 stroke 91-300 4 stroke. I rode that class last year, now im in A.
