What do you guys think of those newer F-150's? I've been in the market for a newer truck and you can always find Fords quite a bit cheaper than a Chevy. The only thing I'm worried about is mileage with the 5.4 as the 4.6 only gets about 17-19 mpg and the fact that they have a shorter wheelbase than Chevy.

we have two 07 f150's. Nice trucks, comfortable, drive nice, quiet, good overall trucks. I like them. Gas wise we get around 20+ on the highway and about 13 in the city.

Get the 5.4, we have both and your really can't tow big loads with the 4.6 and either way gas will suck so just get the 5.4

I was talking more around the 2000-2004 year range.

If I were to get a brand new truck I'd have to say that the Fords are the best as far as looks go for any full size truck.

I know that my dad's F-250 work truck which is a 2004/05 is painfully slow for a V8 (not sure which liter size it is), cramped in the cab (extended cab), and the suspension feels like you're riding a hay wagon.

Well now that you speak of it, we used to have a 97 with a 5.4, and a 2002? I believe with a 5.4. good engines.
