Remove Carb?

Do you have to remove your carb to adjust the air screw? I am at work so i cant look at my manual. Is it the black knob on the top left hand side, or the nob on the bottom of the carb?

NO ITS ON THE BOTTOM OFF THE CARB AND IF NOBODY HAS
EVER BEEN INTO IT BEFORE IT IS BETTER TO TAKE IT OFF
AND PULL THE FLOAT BOWL OFF THE SCREWS STRIP OUT REAL
EASY! PULL THE BOWL OFF U CAN SEE THE AIR SCREW LOOK AT
THE BOWL THERE IS A PIECE OFF ALM. COVERING THE HOLE
KNOCK IT OUT AND THEN U CAN DO FUTHER ADJ. WITH IT ON THE
QUAD AND NOT HAVE TO PULL THE CARB. AGAIN, IF U GET ONE
THE AIR SCREWS THAT STICK OUT OFF THE CARB THAT U CAN
ADJ. WITH YOUR FINGERS GET A GOOD ONE I HAVE SEEN SOME
OFF THE CHEAP ONES BACK THERE SELF OUT WHILE THE QUAD IS
RUNNING? I DONT KNOW HOW YOUR JETTED BUT I HAVE 4 04-07
YFZ'S AND I RUN 175 MAIN,48 PILOT, GYTR NEEDLE AND 21/2 TO
2 3/4 TURNS OUT ON AIR SCREW? SOME SAY 170 MAIN BUT MINE
WOULD RUN OUT OFF FUEL ON THE TOP END IN 5TH TAPPED OUT

What year is your bike?

The 04/05 bikes don't have a plug over the air screw so it is able to be adjusted without removing anything. An aftermarket screw will make it much easier though like mentioned above.

I "think" they started covering the screw with a plug in 06 but i could be wrong.

yea its an 06.... what would be the advantage to have it blocked off? i guess its an engineer's joke to make it a pain

It's to make external adjustments tamper resistant. It's an emissions thing. The EPA doesn't want the average joe messing with it.

You guys must be talking about the fuel screw, not the air screw. I'd pick up an aftermarket fuel screw, you can get them for around $20 and it makes it somewhat easier to adjust.
