It is good! :D I talked with White Bros about putting an e-series behind it. They said that it would be a good set up.

Chad when you go take a stock header that has the welds cut out also. I would like to see the difference withe the 2 headers with the same exhaust and see if there is any diff. PM me with the results or post them for us to see.

I hate to be rude but you have a 505 kit and are going to try the stock header? Why don't you buy A Sparks, LRD or some kind of race pipe?

Because my engine builder TC says the stock header is the best made for a 400EX. He says if you want more top end then yes get a larger headpipe, but the stocker makes more torque, and being that i mostly drag race, torque is what i need most!! That guy with the Z400 with a 450 Yoshi kit thought the same thing(this guy is using the stock header, it cant be very fast) then when I blew his doors off he probably got sick to his stomach!!!

tprender, my stock headpipe on my bike now has the weld grinded so it will be that vs. a Powerbong,,,honestly i dont think there will be much difference but i guess its worth a try! I will post the results

Your point is well taken. I had never heard that. My powerbomb doesn't look to be very much larger than the stock head pipe. I think I'll keep it, but do tell us about your results with the stock header. Are the welds very large in the stock header? I ground the welds down in my powerbomb, but haven't got my head back from the port job to try it out. Good luck with the dyno.

Just get it if you want something shiney to slap on your bike, other than that, spend your money on something else.

Say I stay with the stock header (going with a 426 kit), would I
be good to get a silencer, or will the stock one do (atleast for
now)?

Y'all say grind off the welds ( on the stock pipe). where on the pipe are you talking about? Is it very hard to do or get to? I have not taken my pipe off at all..........:o

hey, CHADEXer i also was going to run the stock head pipe on the ex but not sure what muffler to run. granted i dont have nowhere near the money you have in your 505ex but, 15000 thousand only goes so far between my fast sandrail and my mild 400. didnt mean to offend you the other day about the tire weights, i may be wrong on the haullers:D

Do you have a pic of your airbox lid. I was thinking about making one myself.

when i get my bike back this week hopefully i can get you a pic. but all i did was make a lid. just take a piece and drill some holes in it. then use what ever you want to fix it to the air box. i personaly used wire hehe, works well though.

It's around $200 and i thought it was worth it as much as putting an aftermarket slipon. My complete exhaust system cost me about $350 total,,but that was with some nice discounts...:devil

oh hah i feel dumb now, yeah 180 isn't to bad. i meen considering atv prices and all. i can live with that. hopefully i can find a good price on a slipon here soon. i'd like to get the powerbong also, i've seen some reviews of it and it does actually add power. but i think it would really shine with a built engine, no doubt it will help with a stocker. i dunno i think its pretty much worth it.
