As most of you probably know, Cancun was hit by hurricane Gilbert...one of the most powerful caribbean hurricanes ever about 2 years ago. I go their about once a year, and this huricane damaged it just as bad, if not worse than New Orleans and they managed to COMPLETELY rebuild the whole city a couple of months ago like it never happened. Turn on CNN and listen...sounds like they are in for it again:ermm: there's supposed to be about 10,000 american citizens trapped their while it passes over tomorrow.

Hurricane Gilbert sounds like a comedian hurricane.

Who's suppose to be afraid of that?

The most recent one is called Dean. They were still recovering from Gilbert when Dean hit.

thankfully, no lives where lost, the eye of the huracaine passed to the south of cancun, mostly farm land and mountains..

it was said that when it touched land was a category 5, but came in and went from c-4 to c-3... now that passed all the yucatan peninsula, is a c-1, but it has touched watter again and its on its way to veracruz, and is going to get to c-3 or c-4, when touches land again.

it suposed to pass between veracruz and tampico, and later to reach the south of texas, all the way to huston, i guess in a smaller manner.

however there where a ton of crop lost, but no lives lost.

Just got back from Grand Oasis Cancun, might let ya know that the place was my least favorite of my 3 trips there. Not a very good resort. Very dirty, Food was bad, and very hard to get good drinks. Just as a little help I would look else where. My 2 cents.

I haven't heard too many great things about that resort either . A real party resort , so the staff doesn't really care about cleaning and maintaining the facility too much . I had friends go there about a year ago , and they said they'd never go back to that resort again.
