You probably arent going to get a straight answer on here with this subject. I currently use the HRC cam and think its about as good a cam as you can get for just all around power. The hotcams are more divided up between low, mid, high power so if you are looking for just one of those areas of more power the Hotcam may be better. I personally will never change from the HRC.

check out the camshaft selection "STICKY" thread in this 450R section... I've posted power curves for each camshaft for you to compare what power suites you bests...

hope this helps.

There really isn't a straight forward answer for this question. I believe that the HRC cams are better quality in build...but when it comes down to it, it really makes no difference. The old HRC cam is an excellent top end performer....and the new is an excellent bottom end. Hotcams offers a variety of cams to suit your needs. The HC1 is a great bottom end cam, and the HC2 is a great midrange cam. All in all, it really comes down to what you are looking for exactly.

The HC2 is chosen by most simply because it is a great all around cam. It has near the bottom end of the best bottom end cams, and near the top of the best top end cams....pulling hard all the way through.

No complaints from the HC2 here.

I have a stock '07 450R but plan to get the HRC kit as soon as possible. Will this solve the hard starts? I have the electric start and if it's below 60 degrees out you might as well forget it.
Any suggestions?

When its cold out turn your idle up a bit so that it will start easier. make sure you choke it. to my knowledge the HRC wont make it start easier, it will just help you spin your tires;)

when its cold outside I pump the throttle twice with the choke on then hit the starter works great for me.

I usually did that also I forgot about that, good idea as long as you dont hit the start at the same time.
