i have never raced mx before, and this is my first quad, i will be racing sept 30th. just wondering if anyone has any tips, things i can do to the quad to get ready, etc.

its a 01 400ex, ive got nerfs, a hmf pipe, uni filter, jetted, stage one hot cams, race cut fronts, and razr's.

what tire pressure should i run, suspension setup? etc..

For tire pressure 8-12 psi. It depends on the track. Start with 12 psi and if you spin a lot drop the pressure. If you go below 8 you will run a chance of breaking a bead when you turn. For suspension your limited if your running stock shocks. Practice your starts in 2nd gear. Just have fun and be safe. Don't race over your head!! On my friends first race he was not paying attention and jump when he shouldnt and crashed and got hurt and then hit a tree the next race so pay attention too lol

I know that too but how do you do that on a motocross track:confused:

on a mx track you cant hit trees unlessits something like loretta lynn, but racing gncc type stuff trees are killers

i got sum advice...first off try to have fun and ride with your head, and if u get serious into MX i would reccomend u sell your 400 for a 450...im not bashin on 400's i have one and i dumped over $15,000 and its just not competitive enough i wish i would of got a 450 to begin with

i just got started =). get shocks!! even the 1's with no ressies. stocks suck! i bottomed out like crazy today
