View Full Version : 310r vs Yfz450

A buddy of mine has it set in his mind that his 2006 yfz450 with stage 2 hot cams, dynatek ignition, and dr.d full exhaust will blow my 250r once I complete my motor. I am putting in a esr 310 power valve with a pump gas dome, 38mm carb and v-force reeds. Will my R not beat his once I am done or am I completely wrong here.

1 whats your riding exprience compared to his

2 what kind of race

3 what is your gearing

4 what is size difference between you and him

We have about the same riding ability,weight, and its mx/flat track/drag racing. The gearing on both machines are stock.

well, when i drag race one of my friends with a 450r with the avg mods (piped, Cammed, etc.) vs. my stock 250r (ported).. I'm either right on him, or a few times beat him...
at the moment i'm getting my motor rebuilt with a 310pv put on it, so i'm sure i'll be fine..
and remember with ur 250r, you gotta know ur powerband and know exactly when you need to shift.

it will be close, though i think you should have the edge. it will give you a run for your money though, make sure you shift perfect and get good traction.

lol... if it were just up to what puts out more power the 310 will win but, traction could be a concern and its gunna be a hell of a lot of pull full throttling one of them things through all the gears so if u have the balls and keep traction i would have to say you will probably win, i sure know those 310's are way to much power for me

the irony is that he calls them barbie bikes, but yet has to get a 350 in order to beat them....
