I was thinking of doing beadlocks and the rear and just keeping my quad-rok rims on the front, any suggestions?

as far as tires go. I love my Maxxis Razr rears...I've only ran razr fronts and stock fronts, and haven't been overly impressed with either fronts. Any suggestions for front tires also. Is it worth going Beadlocks all the way around for MX racing?

Here is my recommendation:

Hiper rims

4:1 offset fronts running either Razrs or ITP GNCC

4:5 rears running Razr2 tires

I forgot to mention the tracks around here are very loose, loamy, sandy, dry. Keep the suggestions coming. I forgot offset, on a 4:1, 1 is how far in and 4 is the number out? or opposite? How are kenda Klaw rears?

if your doing mx claws would be fine. if your doing xc go for razr2s they last longer than itps. as far as wheels hypers are good but douglas ultimate beads are tight as well.

Kenda Klaw tires are excellent for trail riding. I have Hiper rims and Klaw tires. XC Klaws are a little heavier and more durable. The rear Klaw tires have a reversable tread pattern for different types of riding terrain. Best of all they are 10 to 20 dollars cheaper a tire as compared to some other leading brands. The tread wear is not an issue. They last a very long time. Here's a photo of my quad.

whatever you do......don't buy the Douglas red/blue/black label aluminum wheels. they are crap. I have gone through soo many of those. well like 3 wheels replacing all on the rear. whether the inside is just folding over because of too much usage...or the lugnut holes shred up. they are bad! ITP has been great for me. get ITP, in my opinion at least.

My HiPer Rims cost me $165.00 per rim but, there durable as all get up. I have thrashed the heck out of them with with only a few minor scratches. They don't bend but, flex instead. You'll replace aluminum beadlocks several times before you give up and buy a set of HiPers. Buy a set now and save yourself money down the road. They are modular so, if a part does break or is worn, it can be replaced separately saving repair cost.

where the heck did you get hipers for $165? that would be asome. Should I get beadlock fronts or just the hiper rims for the front (non-beadlock)? do you actually break that many beads on the front?

They were actually $180.00 a piece delivered ($720.00 total). I can send you the e-mail address of the dealer I purchased them from. I could have got them for $660.00 with a rear rim 4+5 offset but, I stuck with a 3+6 offset which cost me a bit more. They were cost much lower than HiPer Dealers are allowed to advertise. Hiper has a price fixing racket going on but, a few dealers sell for less than Hiper requires.
I have dual bead locks on the rear and single beadlocks on the front.

Maybe it's just me, but personal experience as well as that of some riding buddies says the opposite. Douglas is the way to go in my opinion. ITP's tend to bend very easily, even their "GP" and beadlock versions.

If you have the cash, Hipers are the best.

There is a set of the Hipers for sale for a 400ex in the Hybrids forum. Look for the thread rolling chassis for sale. The rears he sold, they were $450 a piece brand new, he bought the most expensive ones and I think he sold them both for $300 or something. Anyways the fronts figair has are $250 for both! Thats a deal. Tell him I sent ya
