Hey guys i got a 400ex Pretty stock engine-wise but i do got a full yoshi exhaust and a k/n air filter jetted perfect. I was wondering what that would be... but my quads in the shop now gettin a 440 kit so i would like to know what it'd have then too. Thanks guys..

stock i beilieve is somewhere around 27hp, with yosh and k&n probly 30 or 32, with 440 yosh k&n probly no more than 36, but, if you are putting a 440 kit on it you are probably getting new valves, springs, rockers, and cam, and higher compression too, that is the right way to do it. if you do it the right way with yosh and k&n probly 38-42 depending on octane and anything else that may get done to the bike while in the shop keep in mind a new top end provides way more power than say what it will after 20-30 hours. this is not personal experience what i have read is waht i am posting.

Stock 400ex's put out 23 HP.

With a full Yoshi and a filter, I'd say you had somewhere around 27-28 HP.

With a 440 kit, it depends on your cam, port work, compression etc.

You could wind up with anywhere from 32-45+ HP. I dont see any 440 making more than 48-49 HP though.

stock 400ex's put out 27.

a pipe and filter i doubt would give you 5 horsepower.

i have yet to see proof of a 440 making over 45hp. 42 is the most i've ever seen

anyways, if your getting the 440 you should be getting a cam and if so you should end up in the mid or upper 30's.

My pipe gives my 440 more than 5 horses, now since I made it shorter I dyno'd it it's making 45-46 horse power.

i saw the one post said ,"depending on what octane your running" do you know what octane is, octanes are just protection from self igniting itself from compression, diesels have no plugs, and 42 octane, and about 17-18:1 compression, and they self explode the fuel mixture, just some food for thought.

but back to the original question... it depends on the cam(mainly), Porting, jetting(obviously), air filter(believe it or not) and a few other odds and ends... also some fuels make more hp than others, but not because of octane. haha

My Yoshimura gave me a full 7HP. I ditched the airbox lid (regret it now) and installed a K&N, thats worth probably 4 alone.

I wouldnt doubt that my 440 is around 45 horses.:chinese:

You guys are all hilarious! "I wanna say mine is around....." "I'd say mine makes about......" If you haven't actually put yours on a dyno then you have no freakin idea what kind of hp it makes. No two bikes are the same and you're almost always not making as much as you think.

With the 440 kit I would add 2 hp. Around 1hp per 20cc is about right.
Now port the head and do cam mods and the numbers will be much higher.
