Ok a piped fully rebuilt like a 2005 86'250r all engine is stock just a full pipe, but geometry wise all aftermarket.

a person whom I know, who is kind of cocky, said that he was only 2 "quad" lenghts behind my bros R and he "thinks" he was 6th pinned. the rm was also 6th pinned. Is this true as far as i know the R has stock gearing with 18's on it, i know the front sprocket on the R is a 12 tooth and the RM's gearing is stock..

so the R had 18 in tires and a 12 tooth sprocket? thats pretty dang low geared..... i wouldnt be surprised if that RM could keep up with it on top end if its really that low geared. your bro needs to put a 14 tooth front sprocket on there, which is almost stock gearing with the 18 in tires, and race him again. then you shouldnt have any problems beatin him

If the R has 18" tires, & a 12 tooth front sprocket, I'm surprised the Rm did'nt out pull him top speed. Stock front sprocket size on the R Is 13. My boy has a 03 CR85, that I garantee would out run a stock R set up like that. Especially with a small Kid that knows how to ride the 85.

Im running 18x10x8 holeshot mxr6's on my bike. I notice yall say to go up to a 14 tooth spocket to get it back close to stock gearing. What about the rear sprocket? What should it be?

sounds good, I think I have a 39 on the rear right now, which needs to be replaced anyways (teeth are worn badly)

if the engine is setup right and has the ponies. a 14/36 gearing on 18" tires would be a breeze.
