you must use the new one for sure, and when ever you order another cable sometime make sure to buy one for a twist throttle.

do you like yours? I was going to get one but was talked out of it...

a few of my friends that race said they wouldn't get one becauseif your holding on as the front goes up you have to be real careful not to accelerate by accident.

I put one on my 2002 400ex and I wish I didn't because I flipped it on the first time out and since then it wants to stick open also. I lubed it and have everything to keep it from happening but it still does it. I didn't buy no cheap one either.

twist throttle is great on dirtbikes, but suck on quads. thats why they come from the factory with thumb. My cousins banshee has a thumb throttle, you hit the gas you cant let go cuz your pulling on the twist while accelerating.

twist is great, i found myself not being able to pull a wheele as good, not as much fatigue in the arm if you run xc, all what you grow up with and get used to, i put a twist on all my quads, love em
