I just think Yamaha needs to drop the banshee and replace it... Its just getting old. Its a cool quad and everything but Yamaha's line is getting old.... They restyled the blaster, but its getting old too.

Just wanted to know what you guys think?(wasn't sure if this should go here or in Non Honda)...
Yes replace it
No keep it

I dunno I guess, if they replace them every year then there is never gonna be that many mods for them and the banshee does have its own niche that there is no other quad to fill it, so no.

KEEP the BANSHEE! But I think they need to make adjustments to it. A couple things here and there, and itll be a greater quad than it already is! ;)

that would be a big NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shee's are cool

I said no but they could maybe put a different way to tighten the chain up but thats bout it hands down the shee is one of the best sport quads ever made;)

I love my banshee so I say NO

Around here we all ride banshees. Out of about 20 of us only 4 or 5 ride other kinds of quads.

Our local yammy dealer sells the he!! out of banshees. He sells more shees than any other yammy sport quad. IMO the banshee is the best yamaha high performance bike in the lineup.

yeah, what he said.

Only I would make a few changed to the banshee.. the plastics on them need a serious face lift.

who would seriously want to get rid of the banshee? If you can find a quad that has a power band hit like a banshee, pulls to 12,000 rpm, has an exhaust note like a banshee, handles like a 250r, weighs 320 lbs, and comes with a naked super model, then you can replace it. Have a Nice day.

You will never be able to replace the shee. I would like to see another twin engine in a sport bike though besides a 600 lb, automatic, shaft driven ninja turtle.

the banshee is still a good quad. if they would just revise the air box and maybe put one carb on it (preference) and some better aftermarket things (jus lil things) and it would be better than ever

haha get rid of the shee? yeah maybe just update a few things. maybe an aluminum frame or something. i don't know much about them but i know not much stuff has changed since they made them the first year. but its one of the best selling sport quads of all time.

I THINK the only thing that has changed is the J-arms to A-arms, but I dont know EXACTLY what year they converted...somewhere in the 80's!

If there is one thing I love , is to watch those Banshees fly over the dunes..:D I say KEEP THEM!!!:blah

Poncho
10-30-2002, 08:18 PM
IMO they should change:

The chain adjuster to honda style
The filter needs to be clamped on
better tires (Raptor tires)
that would suit me :D

Oh and the thing about the kick starter there is a rubber o-ring in there if u take it apart and you have to put a new one on every so often because they swell and slide down therefore causing them to rattle.:o

I love banshees...

I believe they went to the a-arms in 92.

10-30-2002, 08:30 PM
you are correct! 91 was the last year for j-arms, then they went to a-arms in 92

Banshee's rock! The first time I saw god riding a quad was when I pegged a 420 long rod version at Glamis several years ago. Never ridden anything that fast in my life. I was shaking from the adrenaline rush. I was hooked, went out a few months later and got one for myself. I built it up and sold it two years later because it was just too much for woods riding and I'm not that good of a rider. If I had open roads/trails and dune access I would get another FOR SURE! Two thumbs up yamaha - keep the 2 strokes comming!

i dont own either, i got a 2001 400ex, and i love it, my brother just bought an 88 blaster yesterday for 1,100 it was converted to a 2000, race cut plastics, piped jetted and bored and i like it just as much as my 400, its a really fun bike, i think it is an awesome bike, i say keep em both

11-30-2002, 05:38 AM
banshees will be around awhile ..
rather a banshee than a "CRAPTOR"

lol well put, that new kawi is such a disapointment..SPORT QUADS ARE NOT AUTOMATICS!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention the weight of it, i love how dirt wheels claims its gonna be the best thing out, give me a break they will do anything for a buck, its nuthin but a scrambler with a bigger engine and green plastic

11-30-2002, 07:33 AM

they should never get rid of the banshee. they are sweet and way better than raptors. they are also still selling good.

11-30-2002, 10:10 AM
i agree drop the warrior and keep the banshee

Sportrax10
11-30-2002, 10:30 AM
Drop the Warrior but make a 250cc or 300cc or another 350cc 4 stroke that is light to be the Warriors replacement. They can even keep the name Warrior.

As for the banshee, update it with things said above. But make a Banshee 90 2-stroke! With dual pipes and 4 speed and Banshee looks! It would be the best mini ever!

why get rid of the banshee? its origional and fast as he||

phatswinn
11-30-2002, 11:43 AM
its the origonal fast as he!! quad even when the 250r's came out they werent anywhere near as fast as banshees stock, most of the modded ons arent either

Sparks425Ex
11-30-2002, 11:49 AM
Why would a company get rid of an ATV that makes up about 65% of their income. The Banshee is the most popular sport quad out along side the 250R and 400Ex.

Just cause somthing has been around a long time don;t mean it is bad.

If they stopped making Banshees what would the Dune world turn into.

and Drag racing.

I mean you go to the Dunes to see some sweet ***** shees that can tear apart any other type of quad. No lets just stop making those and see what fun that is. And lets see how long it takes for Yamaha to go outta business with out the Shee.

You are nutz.
