decided to use the duplicolor spray on bedliner stuff on my PA nerfs.
removed the nets, sanded with 220, cleaned with denatured alcohol, taped off the logo, sprayed.

came out pretty good i think.

also did the pegs to match

AND moved this inside (what is this called?), to inside the airbox to clean up the subframe a bit and keep it dry. will cut off the mount, toolkit mount, and brakelight mounts in the future, maybe just build a new subframe.

look for part 2, tomorrow, installed, with all new hardware. ill let you guys know how the bedliner stuff holds up. i may see if i can talk to PA about a new set of decals, but more than likely, ill leave them all black, its still got the shield logo, i think that is pretty cool

Looks good :) I used that Duplicolor bed liner paint on a set of old 450R pegs and the running boards on my truck. Seems to hold up nicely as long as the prep is good. Definitely no powdercoat but pretty good for a spray paint. I liked how you could adjust the texture from a gritty matte black to a satin shine depending on how you sprayed it.

Oh and the piece you relocated is called the rectifier ;)

Nice job though, hope it holds up well for you!

Looks good. I'm getting ready to do the nerfs on mine with the same stuff. I already did my ac mudscreen bumper and it turned out really well. I haven't had it out much yet but it's holding up so far.

I cleaned mine really well and used an adhesion promoter before using the spray bedliner so I'm hoping it will hold up.

Let me know how it works out on the footpegs. I was afraid it would make them slippery so I didn't try it.

those are just stock pegs so theyre not the greatest anyway, but i didnt wanna have nice looking nerfs and crappy looking pegs, so i did them too. used a light layer on the acutal surface where the foot goes. its gonna rub off anyway

I paint for a living I did the same on my 2002 400ex. Left them the same on my 2003. I used liquid electro-static black on them. In fact painting my frame and sub-frame and a-arms the same black paint. Your garage looks like mine 400ex city. Oh by the way I'm building another 400ex to race.
