I am putting a Stage 1 Hot Cam on my 400ex later today. One of the long head cover bolt that bolts through the head and into the cylinder is stripped. No big deal, I'll just pull the head and HeliCoil the stripped bolt hole and throw on a new head gasket (probably good insurance on a 2001 model anyway). Here is where I need advice...I have never pulled a head or cylinder on any atv without having an extra set of hands to keep tension on the cam chain, but, alas, all my neighbor kids are back in school now so I am wrenching solo. Anyone have any tips, other than grow a third arm?
