ex axle in r?

will an 07 400ex axle fit in an 04 450r??

I'm not 100% but the 400 is shorter than 450 but I think they are all the same 300's 250R's 400ex 450R it depends on the thickness and length...........I think

People say it will, but I've tried and they do not line up right... search this, there are plenty of posts on this. I even posted the two carriers side by side to show they're different. The 400ex carrier is 1/8 in longer than the 450R one. You will have alignment problems.

I tried putting my durablu axle off my old 250r on to my old 400ex before i sold the R and it fit but something else didnt work right like the brake hub or something. I dont exactly remember it was like 2 years ago.
