I wish, but i didnt meet his reserve. After the auction i contacted him and he sold to me below his reserve. I got it for 4900, which i didnt think was bad with te fullexhaust, nerfs, and skat tracks. Oh yea, plus i am making him meet me half way, so that saved me 150 in gas.

All the others i looked at were bone stock and they were wanting 4400-4500

how do you like the pulsecharger on it

I havent rode it yet. We went to Tulsa on Sunday to pick it up from Amarillo (51/2 hour drive), and it was pouring down rain, so i started it and drove it around the parking lot.

Now it is setting in my garage waiting for this weekend.

I have a question though. The guy said the dealership rejestted this when they put the pulsecharger on, but it seems to bog when you push it full throttle real fast. My friends say the cam mod will fix this withthe better response, however i am thinking it needs to be jetted again. What do you think?

Also i have some questions-- do i have to drop the plastics and all that to get to the carb? Is that black knob on the top left side focarb the air screw? Do i have t fully take carb off or can i get to main jet by taking th ebowl off if i can get to it?

Welp, I just googled it and i now know i need to rejet. He was from Grain Valley MO which has an elevation of 765ft. Amarillo has an elevation of 3672ft. I will look at the sticky for answers

Yeah, It could very well be the Leak Jet (that the correct name?) It controlls how much fuel is shot threw the accelerator pump.

to rejet the carb you wont have to take all the plastics off. just loosen up the clamps that hold it to the motor and to the air box and just tilt the bottom of the carb towards you. Then there will be a 17mm nut on the bottom of the float bowl if your just going to change the main just just take out that 17mm and get a 6mm socket and take out the main jet. if your going to replace the pilot jet your going to have to till the carb a little more and take the float bowl off. be careful when taking the float bowl off because its very easy to chew up the head of the screw and it will make it a major pain in the arse to take off. also you might have to disconnect the TPS switch so you can get enough tilt. As for having to take the plastics off. the only thing you you'll ever have to take the front plastics off other than to take the motor out and stuff like that is to change your spark plug.

thats why i always replace the float bowl screws with allen head bolts...

that bog is on all the R's... i've heard people talk about the leak jet, but i got the accelerator pump and that took care of it...

Its just bc its a carb. You cant just punch the throttle on a YFZ, its not EFI. you'll get used to it.

Get a quickshot accelerator pump cover. A buddy of mine has a YFZ (04 or 05) and he had the same bogging down problem. He did the cam mod and spent a few months tuning on the carb and still had this problem. He finally stopped being cheap and spent the $80 on the cover and now it runs great. He said it was the best mod so far.
