kick starter

anyone know if it is possible to have ur motor sent away to have a kick starter installed on a 400ex? whats everyones opion on havin a kick starter on a 400

I wouldn't mind to have one on my 300 for back up. Don't really trust an electric all the time, but if it dies I can always roll start it. Don't know if you can get a kickstarter installed though.

somewhere i read you can get one from japan but i don't know about a comp release..i think with a xr400 side and all the parts for it it could be done

one of my friends had it priced to be done for his 300 i don't no where but it did have the decomp switch on it and costed 750 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(i think they can pull my 300 first!!!)

use the xr400 head and a release lever and that should work

the 300ex should be easy to do it bc its basically a 250x if u take off ur side case u can see where the old kick starter is at. it would be really easy i think.

i am also interested in a kick start b/c i hate electrical....one of the reasons is i have a high comp piston and well it don't take long for my battery to die when cranking it over....i lost a race 2 weeks ago b/c of that i was passing for the lead when i hit a braking bump and stalled....well to make a long story short i ended up draining my battery and having to bump it....( on a side note i got 7th in the first moto and 1 st in the second one for a 1st overall)
