christian? my friend told me they are a christian band, but i didnt think they were
sort of...hard to explain

Yup, but their no longer a band, they keept fighting and have split up.

Scott grew up in a christian home and went to college where he was damned to hell from some preist for something he did. He then took a long hard look at life and realized everything in this world just may be his own creation and any hell to come is brought on by himself. Thats when he wrote "Creating my own prison" or "Prison" or whatever its called.
Basically, hes not really a "christian" but just another human struggling to understand it all.

They were catagorized in the "christian rock" genre...
and that song is called "my own prison" and its awesome.

One Last Breath, My Sacrifice, and Higher are arguably showing their Christian side, along with many others.
Then Scott Stapp broke away and came out with The Great Divide and the rest of the guys formed Alter Bridge.
