carb mod 06/07

what is this carb mod that i have heard about? i dont know what it consists of but i read about it in dirt wheels. the issue that had the white brothers 450 in it. i also saw an ad on ebay that the guy said he had it done. what does it consist of and is it worth the time?

Lighter spring maybe? That's a popular mod on the FCR carbs.

They're probably refering to the accelerator pump mod where you hard wire the linkage..

u guys are going to have to explain to me. i know it is a mod that can be done to the fcr carbs i dont think u can do it to the round slide. i know where the accelator pump is but what do i need to do to hard wire it?

if it is the "tokyo mods"(company's name) mod, it is a lighter throttle return spring to make the throttle less stiff...another thing to assist that is to use a throttle off of a 400ex or 300ex...i just did this to my 06 450r and will be putting the tokyo mods spring in tomorrow night...

if it is the accelerator pump mod, it is one of 2 things...the first is using a smaller leak jet...stock is a 75 and you go to a 50...the second is the boyeson acc pimp cover...these are both supposed to eliminate the off throttle bog you get when going from very low or no throttle to fully open. i know that the smaller leak jet works and is a lot cheaper at $6 for the jet than the $80+ acc pump cover is...

fcr AP mod, this has been out for a while. try the leak jet 1st, if you still have the bog, follow these instructions. mine was cured with the leak jet.
