I saw some pictures a while back of someone who had some
extensions welded on the fins on the jug. Does anyone know
who does this and how much. Also, has anyone had this done,
or have any thoughts on how well it works.
Sure looks cool!!

The person who had it done on her is "OldNumber7" and he had XR's Only do it i think. There is a link to it in the Links section. Ive heard it helps cool it down alot.

I've seen liquid cooling before but never extended fins before.

Yep that's my motor! The fins work a bit to well actually. When we dyno'd the bike on Friday we had problems keeping the motor warm enough to produce peak power. After 4 runs the head was only 145 degrees. I peaked at 44 horses. When we turned off the cooling fans and ran the motor for a bit...then I peaked at 49 horses. I am thinking that in the real world "AKA Glamis" the motor will perform great.....simply because it will be under a true load nearly all day long. The motor was built to be an "All Day Duner" not a hill shooter.

Al Baker did the head, it was very reasonable, I think I only paid about $250.00 for the fins.

So the Fins worked so much the Fans you had on the motor to keep it cool kept it to cool? lol. Man if it works that good then I may have to get that some time. It`s only $50 more bucks then the Oversized Oil Tank.
