What is the differences between these motors.

All that I know is that the lower and upper intakes are different. Anything else?

I'm looking at getting a 87-96 4x2 F150 and modding the motor some and was wondering if parts were the same for them.

If I do get the 4x2 F150 and mod the motor I would probably like to put cobra intake on it and a high lift cam and full exhaust until i can get more money for other things. What cam would you recommend for the 5.0 302? I'm thinking a E303. I love the sound of a ruff idle.

Cranks are different, cams, differents specs all aroung, bacically same block, the 'stang 302s are a little higher horse, and a little more mod-able... alot of the parts are interchangable, but its hit and miss with those......

Whats the point of having a cam that will allow more air flow, when your going to still have the factory heads?

The truck 302's also have a flat-tappet cam in them, which is a lower RPM cam and you have to buy special intakes for those engines.

Your best bet si to find a truck you like with a blown engine, then got o a junk yard and find a lower milage, wrecked mustang with relatively little front end damage and get the engine out of that.

The mustang engine will fall right in where your's was. And an E303 would be a good cam for a choppy sound, but i would hunt down some used, good condition Edelbrock performer RPM heads and put them on it, along with the intake (s), depending on wether or not you decide to carbeurate the truck.

;) I was raised in a ford family

Cobra Intake is good for about 20 horse.

Compression is about 9:1

E303 for EFI B303 for carb, I got carb and my buddy had efi and he had e I got b and they idle lope the same, its how they are made for each other with the lift and duration and the different lifters that are in ours.

I have my idle at 500rpms and man does it sound NICE! Then get on it and its up in the rpms instantly, at least threw 1st and 2nd, LoL.

Oh and get a stick!

got a video :)

Yes im getting a stick.

I just cant decide if i want to go with the 4x4 F150 with the 302 and keep it stock or if i should get the 4x2 F150 302 and build the motor some. The whole reason i want a cam is because i love the sound of a high lift cam.

I cant get a mustang because insurance is to expensive for them.
