My clutch is slipping BAD! After 2nd gear it slips like a mofo. I was wondering if anyone had a clutch installed by a dealer or anyone. I need to kinda get a price range of how much it is going to cost me. One more thing, should i go with a heavy duty clutch?

I will be at this same decision soon and here is what I was thinking.

Look into pocket... if theres and extra seven or eight hundred get the whole hinson set up, if not start checking out some alternates.

Maybe the basket? or add the press plate too? should be 400.00+ depending on where purchased etc.

Stock plates seem to be good from what I have heard and there are diff springs (FST has some of these and a 8 plate set up also)

Then the stock plates and some springs are the inexpensive way out also, and look at how long they lasted.

Talk with Mike at For Dirt Only. He machines you stock pressure plate, then get 250r fibers and 300ex steels. This will make enough room to run a 8 disk system. He also uses heavier springs. I think that Gabe is using this type of set up also.

wow, that 205r/300ex set-up sounds cool. Does it work better than the stock 400 set-up?

..I think thats what Sparks is,a 300ex steals, and 250r fibers but i have no way to prove this,,cuzz his is a great set up,8 fibers and 7 steals..in a stock basket,no work needed to make it fit..just drop it in..

The fibers for the 400 and the R are the same. The steels are different for some reason. If you go with stiffer springs, it will make the pull harder. It is a trade off.

I went with stiffer springs when I did my 440. They are stiffer, but not bad, 20 min. into the first ride you forget about them. Just keep your cable lubed and you won't be able to tell the difference.

I sell the magnum baskets for 155. if u need a new basket, i can get one to your door at a good price. But i wouldnt wonder too far off stock. Take notice hjow long your stocks ones lasted??
