Ever consider going with a smaller bore to increase reliability?

thanks for the reply but we run the open class in the extreem dirt tt series and some of those bikes we run against are like 520 and plus. as well as plus 40 '30 and 16-24 year old dudes with some very well built bikes. when this thing runs rite we can definatly beat them we were in 2nd going for the lead in ashtabula when on lap 7 is stuck a piston. we cant seem to get past this issue and i have had some pretty good bike guys help with this and we are all dumb founded. so that is why i am concedering a 4 stroke for next year. i have all the mech back round to do this just looking for info on somebody that has done it. i have been searching for days in this forum to no avail. any info greatley appreciated. thanks rustee............

I put a YZ426 in a Laeger CR500 link narrow frame that was for a 250R. The only problem with the Honda engines is that they are a bit tall. Since you're running the dirt track series, the chassis shouldn't take as much abuse as MX. Have you considered a KTM 520? There is a guy who has one for sale, who could help you out with input on that. If you need any input on a YZ frame, I can help you there.

yea you should put a KTM 525sx or 520 in the 250r frame because them motors are wicked. that conversion would be faster than a 450r motor in the 250r frame.
