recall for the starter reduction gear

Honda sent me a Product Update Campaign for the starter reduction gear for my 06ER. I think we all know these bikes are a pain to start and many people are having kickback issues. This starter reduction gear is supposed to prevent kickback, but many bikes are not calibrated properly. This recall is supposed to replace the gear and whatever else needed to do the job for free until August 1 2008. Many of you will probably be receiving this recall, but I wanted to let you guys know before hand. Honda has some kind of knowledge on whats going on.

Glad to hear that it's actually taking effect and Honda is taking some much needed action.

Thanks for the info, since I'm in Canada I'll probably be getting this like a month after everyone else does.

yea i had the work done yesterday lol it only took my shop 2 hours to do it. I have only started it once sense then at the shop. Brought it home and took it apart to put my kick starter in it so i dont know how its going to work lol.
